Time for DoubleMex 2023. A bit better late than never this year. DoubleMex 2023 spent 12 months in a combination of Old Forester 1910 and Heaven Hill Wheat bourbon barrels before being combined with very, very fresh Deeper Roots coffee, overnighted from the roaster and added to the tank the following day; over 2lbs per barrel of whole Madagascar vanilla beans that were painstakingly chopped and scraped to extract as much flavor as possible; and last but not least, organic sweet cinnamon sticks.
Tasting the barrels this year was quite the treat. Throughout the process we discovered two blends we loved and kept going back and forth between them. One blend was such a perfect expression of a beer, barrel, and time that we decided we couldn’t add adjuncts to it and would save it for a barrel release in 2024…so there’s that to look forward to.
The blend that was ultimately chosen for DoubleMex 2023 is delightful. It’s got a big barrel character, a thread of sticky toffee, warm spice, vanilla, and fresh brewed coffee. It’s thick, balanced, and everything we love about barrel aged stouts. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we enjoy making it.

Release Details: How it Works
DoubleMex 2023 will be released in 750mL bottles ($29 each) via our online shop for pickup in Braddock.
Here’s what you need to know:
WHAT: This release will not be a lottery. Bottles will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bottle limits are set at three per customer. Only one order may be made per person.
WHEN: Bottles will release in three separate waves:
– Wave 1: Wednesday, December 20 (tomorrow) @ 2pm
– Wave 2: Wednesday, December 20 (tomorrow) @ 8pm
– Wave 3: Thursday, December 21 @ 12pm
HOW: You must have a Shopify account to purchase bottles and be logged in for DoubleMex to appear in the shop.
DoubleMex bottles will not be shipped.
Bottle Pickup: Bottles will be available for pickup this Saturday from 1pm to 9pm.
DoubleMex Flight: We will be tapping 3 years of DoubleMex to celebrate and enjoy a vertical tasting (2021, 2022, 2023). Double ’23 on December 23rd!
Football: Yes! The Steeler game will be on the projector.
