This week’s release is something that I’m personally really excited about. We’ve got a new beer out called Kokua as part of an industry wide collaboration to help raise funds for those affected by the wildfires in Maui. Buying this beer helps contribute to those impacted by one of, if not, the worst natural disaster in Hawaii history.

It’s deeply personal for me, as it creates a bridge between where I am now and where I am from. Being able to connect, to give back, to do something to support the efforts in Maui, especially in a year when I won’t be able to go home for the holidays, means a lot to me.

Let’s talk about the beer itself. We, along with hundreds of other breweries around the world, brewed this session IPA, aptly clocking in at 4.808% ABV. It is made with Waimea and Mosaic hops based on a recipe from Maui Brewing Co. Our take on the Kokua Project beer is hazy, tropical, and refreshing, with notes of mango, guava, and citrus. Proceeds from this beer will go towards the Maui Brewing Co. Fire Fund.

One of my personal goals is to extend the “Aloha spirit” beyond the islands to wherever I may be. I hope that by enjoying one of these beers you can feel that.
