FreeBOROUGH OF SWISSVALE PUBLIC NOTICE – Swissvale Borough Council is seeking a resident to serve as a public liaison to the Swissvale Borough Police Committee. The Police Committee is comprised of three Borough Council members and the Mayor. The purpose of the Police Committee is to give general guidance and input into the operations of the Police Department and to identify areas where improvements can be made. The Police Committee Liaison must be a resident of Swissvale Borough who is interested in police/resident relations. In this role, the liaison attends monthly Police Committee meetings (held virtually), provides insight into agenda items discussed by the Police Committee, brings forth concerns from the community concerning Police matters and acts as a liaison between the Police Committee and the community by discussing policing issues of interest in the community with community members and bringing those comments and concerns back to the Committee. This is a volunteer position with no compensation or any type of benefits. All interested parties must attend an interview with Swissvale Borough Council on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
