Grant’s Defeat – We are switching up our schedule a bit and having another roundtable in September at Braddock’s Battlefield History Center!
This month we will discuss James Grant’s mission to Fort Duquesne.
James Grant was tasked with leading a scouting mission to assess troop numbers and readiness at Fort Duquesne. Grant split his force, hoping to lure the French into an attack that he could surprise and overwhelm. Grant’s actions would be an embarrassment for the British Army.
