Swissvale Farmers Market – 7th Annual
October 3 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, repeating until October 31, 2020
Swissvale Farmers Market will be opening for it’s 7th season Saturday, June 6, from 9 am to 1 pm. An array of fresh produce, flowers, and prepared foods will be available from our vendors: Jodikinos Family Farm, Growing Groceries Pgh., Catchfly Gardens, Great Harvest Bread, Pitaland, Sugar Momma’s, and Eco Solutions. Just Harvest will be with us enabling those with SNAP benefits and ATM cards to make their purchases. Covid-19 guidelines will be in effect and can be viewed at our website www.swissvalefarmersmarket.org. Join us in supporting and preserving Western Pennsylvania’s food chain. See you at the market!
6/1 UPDATE: As a state approved non-profit Swissvale Farmers Market depends on volunteers to keep our market running smoothly. If you are interested in helping out at the market as a volunteer send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to have you join us!
6/1 UPDATE: Don’t miss out on your favorite breads and breakfast treats. Jennifer at Great Harvest Breads has arranged three ways you can pre order and pre pay for your order. No need to worry if she’ll be sold out of that cinnamon roll you’ve been dreaming about! You can place your order by calling Great Harvest Bread by Friday, 8:00 pm, at 412-441-6000. You can also place your order by email (4 pm Friday deadline) at
email@example.com or on their website at www.pittsburgh.greatharvestbread.com. Your order will be ready for pickup at their booth at the Swissvale Farmers Market on Saturday morning.
5/31 UPDATE: Hard to believe we are just 1 week away from our 7th season opening. For those who are concerned about health issues I’d like to go over some of the changes you will be seeing at this year’s market. We will be blocking off all but one entrance to the market. The entrance will be on the Washington Avenue/Center St. side of the market. Vendor booths will be placed approximately 9 feet apart to enable easy social distancing. All vendors, staff, and volunteers will be wearing masks and we request that all our customers do the same. The PA Dept. of Agriculture has asked us to eliminate anything that would encourage customers to linger or congregate at the market so there will be no music and no tables and chairs. We ask that, when possible, only 1 person from a household attend and we respectfully request that you leave your pets at home. We are also suggesting that the time from 9:00 am to 9:45 am be reserved for seniors and those with underlying health issues. For more details check out our website at www.swissvalefarmersmarket.org. We’re all in this together so lets all do what we can to keep our community safe and healthy!
5/27 UPDATE: Hi All! We’re getting closer and I thought you might like to know which vendors to expect at our opening. Jodikinos Family Farm and Growing Groceries PGH will be offering a wide selection of fresh, local produce. Catchfly Gardens will be returning with plenty of herbs and their stunning floral bouquets. Delicious breads, muffins, sweet rolls, and Savannah bars will be available from Great Harvest Bread. For prepared foods to take home and enjoy we will have Pitaland with their delicious Mediterranean treats and we will be welcoming Sugar Mamma’s with their fresh home style foods and desserts. Also new this year will be Eco Solutions Distributing who will be selling locally produced hand sanitizers. As always, Just Harvest will be with us to help you with SNAP benefits and, although they can’t join us for the opening, Knitting by Pam and Donna, and Meem’s Knits will be joining us as soon as they can. Keep watch for their return dates.
5/24 UPDATE: Because of the Covid-19 pandemic there will be quite a few changes to the market this year. We will be adhering to the guidelines set forth by the PA Department of Agriculture and the Allegheny County Health Department. The layout will be a bit different and due to their restrictions we won’t be able to have all our vendors at the beginning of the season. There will, however, be plenty of beautiful produce and prepared foods for you to enjoy. I’ll go over this years rules in later posts but in the meantime you can check them out at our website at
