Carnegie Free Library of Swissvale – Swissvale Library is the source for community connection, education and entertainment. Swissvale Library opened for business on February 4, 1918 and is one of 19 libraries that Andrew Carnegie built in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. We have been serving the public for over 100 years and we are preparing for many more years of service to come. Swissvale Library is equipped with five public computers, free WiFi, a color copier, printing, faxing, and exterior book return, and convenient street parking on Monongahela and McClure Avenues. Use your county-wide library card to borrow any of the library’s materials. Want something from another library? Call us, or use your online account to have it sent here for convenient pick-up. Swissvale Food Pantry – (operated by Swissvale Cares) Food pantry distribution hours are 9 a.m. to noon, on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Produce For The People distribution is the last Tuesday of each month from 10 am to 11:30 a.m., until the end of October. SisTers PGH – Black and trans-led 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides resources, including transitional housing and a community resource center for transgender people of Southwestern PA. SisTers PGH community center is a safe, brave, drop-in space for TGNC folk in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. In addition to a community hangout, we provide access to clothing, toiletries, food, and computers, as well as referrals to vetted trans-competent medical and mental health service providers and intakes to our other programs as needed. Our computer lab is also available for job searching, housing searching, resume building or any other computer-related activities. The game/lounge area is also open. Sylvia’s library: A collection of black queer and trans books and literature. If you’d like to register for: Project T (TRANSitional Housing for BIPOC Trans siblings), Rent/Utility Support, TGNC Youth Collective (Support Groups) or any other of our programming, our friendly staff will assist you in doing so. In-person donations and resource pickups can also be scheduled via phone call or DM. Habitat for Humanity ReStore – Greater Pittsburgh (nonprofit)  – Donate, Shop, Volunteer! 7402 Church St, 412-244-7100, Tuesday-Saturday 9am – 4 pm (donations accepted until 3:30 pm), Sunday-Monday CLOSED & donations NOT accepted. The Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh ReStore accepts donations of reusable house building and home improvement materials from individuals and organizations. Donated goods are then sold to the public at deep discount. Wilkins School Community Center (WSCC, nonprofit) – is a unique space to meet, play, learn and grow for all, holding arts, fitness and educational events for all ages. Located in Swissvale and serving surround East End neighborhoods too. WSCC offers it all! Costs vary depending on the class, event or happening. Discounts for members – Family Membership $60 (including 2 adults and children), Individual Membership $45.
